Musicians Bootcamp

Over the years, we have identified certain areas where we felt we could support musicians more, beyond creating performance opportunities. In March 2024, we opened applications for our first free musicians bootcamp. Over 3 evenings, attendees gained valuable insights from industry experts, including advice on elevating their promotional strategies and guidance on crafting a professional press kit.

Sessions were separated into 3 topics:

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆: 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗥 & 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀
The bootcamp begans with PR tips from Natalie Geraghty who guided attendees in the best way to tell their story and get noticed by the press. Plus, The Old Courts’ Marketing team were on hand to help craft the perfect bio and run through the do’s and don’ts of social media.

The Old Courts Artistic Director, Jonny Davenport & DJ, Broadcaster and music journalist Dave Sweetmore delved into what programmers look for in musicians, funding opportunities and how to get booked for gigs.

David Pichilingi, founder of Sound City and CEO at Modern Sky conveyed the perspective of a record label and insights from the industry. David was joined by special guest Alex Moore of The Lathums, who spoke candidly about his experiences within the industry

After completing the bootcamp, all attendees were offered a free photo session with Luella Pix, resulting in receiving some valuable high res images to add to their press kits.
