The Old Courts: Heritage Consultation

In 2023, The Old Courts officially registered as a charity, “Wigan Heritage and Arts Trust” after many years of consulting and working with specialists to incorporate the charity.

At this critical moment of change, we wanted to evaluate where we are, and plan for the next 3 – 5 years, including the development of a new business plan and supporting framework. Before we develop a new business plan, we wanted to consult with people who are also invested in Wigan’s heritage, and passionate about securing its future.

We held a consultation and asked attendees questions about what The Old Courts’ heritage offer could and should look like. The feedback we gained on our ideas helped us to begin the process of creating a plan that animates and interprets Wigan’s heritage for our communities.

We are now in the process of transitioning to a charity.
