Following the success of last year’s programme, the Musicians Bootcamp is back for 2025! This free-to-attend 3-part programme is designed for musicians of all experience levels. Whether you’re solo, in a band or something in between, these sessions will inspire you to take your music up a notch. Maybe you’ve never gigged before or you’re more interested in music promotion or producing, these insightful sessions are for you too. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to ask any burning questions and the supportive environment will be a great place to connect with fellow musicians.

Sessions are over three consecutive Tuesdays at 6pm – 8pm.

8th April
Session 1 – Playing Live – Gigs, Fees & Performance
Want to book better gigs, get paid fairly, and make the most of every live performance? Join The Old Courts Artistic Director Jonny Davenport and DJ and Broadcaster Dave Sweetmore as they share insider tips on:

Securing gigs & negotiating fees – Get more bookings and ensure you’re paid what you’re worth.
Gigging on a budget – Smart ways to tour and perform without breaking the bank.
Elevating your performance – Stand out on stage and leave a lasting impact.
Building venue & artist relationships – Strengthen connections that lead to more opportunities.

Session 2 – Music PR – Getting Your Music Heard
Want to get your music in front of the right people without spending a fortune? Join Jamie Otsa, Director at Wall of Sound PR, for an essential session on DIY promotion and making the most of press opportunities.

Established in 2012, Wall of Sound PR is a boutique agency specializing in alternative and underground music, working on hundreds of record releases, events, and bespoke PR campaigns. Session 3 – Copy & Images That Get You Noticed
Your music speaks for itself, but how you present it can make all the difference. In this final session, Jonny Davenport (Artistic Director, The Old Courts) and Joshua Lines (Photographer) will guide you through the essentials of creating a professional, eye-catching artist profile.

Write Yourself – The power of great copy. Be guided by Jonny Davenport on how to craft a compelling artist bio and how to use this in your EPK.
Stand Out From The Crowd – tips for making your music stand out through marketing
Picture This – High-Res quality images are essential in promoting yourself effectively, Joshua Lines is on hand to take great new images to add to your kit.

This hands-on session will give you the tools—and the images—you need to present yourself like a pro. Don’t miss your chance to refine your promo game and leave with high-quality assets for your next release!
